MISSION BEACH, CA

 

This custom Mission Beach house was design for a family of 5.  The dynamic form begins at the first level with a curved stair that is enclosed in blue opaque glass.  The stair ascends up to the third level to create a titanium wave that encloses the master bedroom suite.  The three bedrooms at the second level are rotated which is a nod to the historic Crystal Pier nearby and focuses out to the ocean view.  The bottom level is dominated by a cube with 15’ high door that open out to the boardwalk and the active Mission Beach culture.  This project was completed with Frontis Young.
